ForMission College is fully committed to quality assurance and enhancement, as demonstrated in the following ways:

  • Statement of Commitment

Since 2022, ForMission has committed to a formal Statement regarding quality:

At ForMission we aim to provide quality higher education, to maximise the potential of our learners and promote individual achievement at the highest level. We seek a holistic approach covering all processes in Higher Education (HE) in achieving quality to establish stakeholder confidence in expected quality measures. At ForMission we believe that Quality Assurance is ‘the responsibility of all.’

  • Quality Management

In 2021, the college established the dedicated role of Quality Manager, a senior position that is part of the Senior Management Team. The remit of the Quality Manager is:

To lead and co-ordinate the College’s quality assurance activities liaising closely with the Programme Directors, ensuring that enhancement and continuous improvement are embedded across the College’s policies, procedures and academic practice and fostering a culture of excellence throughout the College.

  • Quality Handbook

ForMission maintains a comprehensive Quality Handbook, which is regularly revised and is made available to all staff and students.

  • Quality Assurance Reviews of Hubs and Pathways

All ForMission teaching locations and pathways are subject to formal quality assurance reviews, conducted by the Quality Manager. (They are also approved by our partner, Birmingham Newman University). These visits help ensure that the highest standards are being met across ForMission’s hubs and across its programmes, and always include consulting with students and responding to their feedback.

  • Quality Newsletters

In order to maintain a regular, organisation-wide focus on quality, the Quality Manager issues termly newsletters to staff and students, covering a range of topical issues relating to quality, Higher Education and the student experience.

  • External Inspection

Previously, ForMission College was subject to annual review by the QAA (Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education). A report of the QAA’s last educational oversight monitoring visit can be found here.
